LesMovies ... The World Unseen

Hi LesPlanet's girls, today we talk of a movie titled "The World Unseen", is based on the novel The World Unseen by Shamim Sarif, the same as directed the movie. This film was premiered in the USA and Europe on November 7 did not arrive until January 2009.

The official Synopsis of the film would be:

Nothing can't stop you from falling in love...

In this moving and passionate love story set in 1950's South Africa, aparheid is just beginning. Free-spirited Amina (Sheetal Sheth) has broken all the rules of her convetional indian community. And the new aparheid-led goverment, by running a caffe with Jacob, her "colored" bussines partner.

When she meets Miriam (Lisa Ray), a young traditional wife and mother, their unexpected attraction pushes Miriam to question the rules bind her. As Amina help Miriam's sister in law to hide from the police, a chain of events is set in motion that changes both women forever.

In a system that divides white from black and women from men, what chance is there for an unexpected love to survive? from overcoming oppression to finding personal freedom, from the hardships of a loveless marriage to the hesitant joy of an unexpected love affair, "The World Unseen" transport the viewer to a vibrant, coloful world that is universal in its themes.

We comment on this movie because we felt it was a movie theme with a very interesting and not just because the relationship that these two women have, but for the discrimination that has occurred in South Africa towards people of color ... and all the prejudices of that time. It seems that we can not see it, to begin here we have the official trailer of the movie ...
